Campus Advisory Council (CAC) membership is a great way to get involved at Davis, learn about our campus goals and priorities, and provide input as we make decisions that impact our campus. CAC membership is open to anyone. Each year, we recruit parents, staff, business owners, and community members to be a part of our CAC.

Davis CAC Monthly Meetings

The Davis CAC meets monthly after school, typically on the second Thursday of the month. CAC meetings are open for anyone to attend, and child care is provided by Davis staff. 2024-2025 CAC meetings are scheduled on the following dates:

  • September 12, 2024
  • October 10, 2024
  • November 14, 2024
  • December 12, 2024
  • January 9, 2024
  • February 13, 2024
  • March 6, 2024
  • April 10, 2024
  • May 8, 2024

All meetings are held from 3:30-4:30pm in the Davis Library. Child care is provided.

What are Campus Advisory Councils (CACs)?

The Campus Advisory Council is a committee of parents, teachers, school principal, other campus staff, and business and community representatives. The formation of CAC is required by state law (Texas Education Code, §11.251). Specific functions of CAC include providing review and comment on:

  • Campus Educational Program
  • Campus Performance
  • Campus Improvement Plan
  • Campus Staff Development Plan
  • Campus-Level Waiver Requests to the State
  • Campus Budget

What is the mission of the CACs?

The mission of CACs is to promote excellence in education for all students through broad-based representation. CACs provide valuable input to principals, who ultimately have decision-making responsibility for their campuses.

Citizen’s Communication

There is a standing agenda item for Citizen’s Communication at each CAC meeting. This is a time set aside at the beginning of the meeting for non-members to make comments to the CAC.
