Dolphin Splash- Davis Elementary Principal's News October 22, 2024

Dear Davis Families,

It was great seeing so many families enjoying Dolphin BOO! Fest on Friday evening! I loved visiting with everyone and I’m happy to report I survived the dunk tank. Huge thanks to Hayley Drey and Angie Nabors, Dolphin BOO! Fest chairs, and the many other volunteers who made this event so fabulous. This week, we have more festivities to look forward to, the Anderson High School Homecoming Parade on Wednesday! We’re so lucky to be a part of the best vertical team in town and I hope to see lots of Davis families at the parade, along with many Davis Dolphin alumni, cheering on our Anderson Trojans!

Coming Soon: First 9-Weeks Report Cards- Online Access Only

The grades are in and report cards are being processed. Report cards will be available online only this year (no printed report cards will be sent home). I hope you can join one of our report card info sessions this Thursday (see details below) to learn more about our new report cards, including how to access your child’s report card online. I’ll post the report card access instructions after the Thursday sessions. I previously shared that our report cards will be different this year, as we are moving from a standards based report card to a traditional report card. I’ll host a Principal Coffee next Wednesday morning to share information about these changes and our grading practices at all grade levels. November 1 Student/Staff Holiday- Diwali

Reminder that students will not attend classes on November 1, 2024 for the observance of Diwali.  Diwali is known as the Festival of Lights. Diwali is a Hindu observance celebrated throughout the world. Festivities include the illumination of lights, candles, firecrackers, and diya (clay lamps) to symbolize the victory of good over evil, inner light over spiritual darkness, and knowledge over ignorance. Diwali is a time for gathering with loved ones, celebrating life, and committing to making the right decisions in life.
