Dear Davis Families,
We have had a very eventful week this week, with lots of excitement in the air for the upcoming holiday break! I’m excited to end our day today with all students and staff in the cafeteria for our annual holiday sing-a-long. As we bring the first semester to a close and celebrate the holiday season, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude for your continued support and partnership throughout the year. Wishing you and your family a joyful and restful holiday season filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. I look forward to seeing you all in the new year!
DAVIS STAFF UPDATES- FOND FAREWELLS, INTERNAL MOVES, AND WARM WELCOMES
I have several staffing updates to share with you. Our longtime phenomenal bookkeeper, Teresa Clement, is retiring this month. Teresa has been such a tremendous part of the Davis team and an integral part of our school community for the past 18 years! She will be greatly missed and we wish her well in her retirement adventures. Melanie Nelson, our current registrar, will be moving into the bookkeeper position. Laura Gonzalez (L.I.L.), current PE TA, will be moving into the registrar position. They have been working closely together to prepare for a smooth transition into the new positions and we are excited to have Melanie and Laura in these new roles. We also are excited to welcome Rachel Hartz to the Davis community as a SCORES special education teacher. Ms. Hartz started at Davis on Tuesday this week and we are thrilled to have her on the Davis team!
NEW SOCCER GOALS
Davis students are SO excited about the new, beautiful soccer goals that were added to the playground this week. When students first saw them on Monday, their reactions were everything from saying how awesome the goals are to literally jumping up and down and cheering because they were so excited about them. Huge thanks to PTA for providing the funding for these goals and to the students and parents of Cub Scouts Pack 421 for spending time last weekend assembling the goals (one of the four outdoor projects Pack 421 completed for to beautify our campus)! In the spring, we’ll be adding field striping to make an official soccer field for our students.
ACCESS TO HEALTHY FOOD OVER WINTER BREAK

- Central Texas Food Bank (www.centraltexasfoodbank.org)
- United Way for Greater Austin - ConnectATX (www.connectatx.org)
